How ECHSOSA Old Students' Association Facilitated the Payment of WASSCE Fees for Three Indigent Students of Egba High School

Indications have emerged that, but for the magnanimity of some Old Students members, no less than three final year students of Egba Comprehensive High School, Asero Abeokuta  would have been denied the opportunity  of sitting for and writing the 2024 WASSCE due to their inability to make payment for the examination.

The affected students are: Somorin Samuel, Olayiwola Peters and Kehinde Noeem.

The plights of the indigent students were  brought to the attention of the President, Old Students' Association,Chief  Olufemi Popoola via a letter by the Principal of the  Senior School,Mr. Sadiku . J. A dated 15th of March 2024.

In  the letter to the National  President of the Old Students' Association, the principal of the Senior School, Mr. Sadiku J. A  informed that the school had registered about 294 students for the 2024 WASSCE, out of which about 31 students have been captured but are yet to make  payment.

The principal further  informed that out of these lots, the hope of making payment for the exams by three of the students namely, Somorin Samuel, Olayiwola Peters and Kehinde Noeem seems Impossible .

This as he said however nececittated the call on the old students to come to the rescue of the three stranded students who would have missed the 2024 WASSCE as a result of their inability to make payment for the exams.

Rising up to the occasion, the National President, Chief Olufemi Popoola promptly reached out to well meaning Old Student members  who made payment for the affected students without further delay.

Chief Popoola said : " was able to secure benefactors  for the payments of the listed students above. The school registral informed me on Friday afternoon and I swung into action immediately . Before I left the compound same day,  I secured the payment of one while the guys you met at our set party last December paid for the remaining two. These are the same set of  people that paid for the repair of the pumping machine, you remember".
