Q: What is the significance of President Tinubu's presence at the Awujale's burial hold?
A: I'm not so amazed because Mr. President knows good people, and the relationship between him and our monarch is so tight. It's like a father-son relationship. Besides, they both have some qualities that are similar. They are both strong, resilient, and for the President, Kabiesi represents a very strong symbol of integrity and a man whose word is his bond. So, his coming is to demonstrate that.
Q: How did the Awujale acquire the qualities that earned him so much widespread respect?
A: Because he was a good man raised in a good background; born into the royal family, brought up in that right way. He took to the position of Kabiesi very early at a time he was at a learning stage, and he was able to mix with the elderly people who are equally monarchs. He took good counsel from the monarchs who were like fathers to him. He is a man of great humility. I recalled a situation when the late Awujale was even saying 'Sir' to people who ordinarily are his subjects. These are people who prostrate for him. He is a man with high sense of reference and humility.
Q: What are your thoughts on his passing, particularly as the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs?
A: His departure leaves an unfillable void, but his legacy continues to inspire generations. As Chairman of the Council of Chiefs, his death was particularly devastating for me and members of the council because he was a moral compass who provided visionary leadership, guiding the council with wisdom and integrity.

A: His impact on our nation was nothing short of transformative. During the time of great turmoil and uncertainty, he stood tall as a beacon of hope, wisdom, and leadership. For instance, people are still wondering how he managed to survive the despot - Abacha.
