The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Abeokuta Branch, has initiated moves to establish a strategic partnership with the Ogun State Property Investment Corporation (OPIC) aimed at promoting professional Engineering input, quality infrastructure delivery, and sustainable urban development in Ogun State.
This development was disclosed during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the NSE Abeokuta Branch to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of OPIC, Arc. Abiodun Fari-Arole, at the Corporation’s headquarters in Abeokuta. The delegation was led by the Branch Chairman, Engr. Olumayowa Ayodeji Idowu, FNSE, accompanied by members of the Branch Executive Committee.
In his remarks, Engr. Idowu commended OPIC for its significant contributions to the development of residential, commercial, and industrial real estate hubs, as well as its role in the creation of new towns and cities across Ogun State and beyond. He noted that OPIC’s interventions have continued to drive economic growth, attract investments, and strengthen urban planning across the state.
According to him, OPIC’s portfolio of completed and ongoing projects across various locations reflects adherence to international standards in infrastructure development, planning, and sustainability.
The NSE Abeokuta Chairman also emphasized the statutory role of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in promoting Engineering best practices, safeguarding public safety, and upholding professionalism. He explained that closer collaboration between NSE Abeokuta and OPIC would enhance technical oversight, improve project quality, support capacity development, and ensure value-driven delivery of real estate and infrastructure projects.
Responding, Arc. Abiodun Fari-Arole welcomed the NSE delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit. He reiterated OPIC’s commitment to delivering world-class developments and acknowledged the importance of engaging professional bodies such as the NSE in achieving sustainable and high-quality outcomes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both organisations agreed to commence structured collaboration, beginning with technical and professional engagement, as a foundation for a mutually beneficial partnership.
